Sciatica.
This is one of the most common conditions seen in our chiropractic clinics in Sutton Coldfield and Solihull. The term sciatica describes the symptoms of leg pain—and possibly tingling, numbness, or weakness—that originates in the lower back and travels through the buttock and down the large sciatic nerve in the back of each leg. It is most commonly caused by a bulge of the lowest two discs in the lumbar spine, but may also be caused by narrowing of the spaces where the nerves emerge from the spine. There is a similar condition causing symptoms in the front of the leg which occurs when discs slightly higher up bulge. Other conditions can mimic sciatica so your chiropractor will do tests to check distinguish between them.
